Bristol Airport parking in 2026 — what’s changed
Bristol Airport’s Long Stay car park closed during the Transformation Programme. As at 02/08/2026 the airport’s parking pages list five bookable car parks — Silver Zone, Multi-Storey, Meet & Greet, Short Stay and Mid Stay — and Long Stay is not among them. We are not going to tell you when it comes back, because the airport does not currently say. Check the airport’s parking page for the list as it stands when you travel.
Whatever the label, the effect has been the same: more demand for off-airport parking, and a surge in both legitimate operators and rogue firms trying to exploit the gap. If your trip is a long one, our own month-long parking guide works through what the airport’s remaining long-stay options actually cost.
The good news: well-run off-airport options — particularly Meet & Greet and minibus Park & Ride — offer excellent value and convenience, often beating on-airport prices by 40–60%.

How to get the cheapest Bristol Airport parking
1. Book as early as possible
The single most effective way to reduce your parking cost. Prices at Bristol Airport rise as your drop-off date approaches — booking 4–8 weeks ahead typically saves 20–35% compared with booking a week before.
2. Avoid peak travel dates
Summer school holidays (mid-July to end of August), Christmas, Easter and half terms all carry a price premium. If you have flexibility, shoulder seasons save money on both flights and parking.
3. Choose the right service for your trip length
For stays of 1–7 days, Meet & Greet Economy offers excellent value with door-to-door convenience. For stays of 14+ days, our Minibus Long Stay is significantly cheaper per day.
4. Book direct with the operator
Middlemen add margin. Because we run our own drivers, minibuses and compound, the price you see here is the operator’s price — with no booking fees added on top.
Real saving: a family of four travelling for 10 days in August could save £60–80 by booking 6 weeks ahead versus booking the week before departure.
How to drop off a passenger for free at Bristol Airport
The car park most people still call “Drop & Go” is now the Drop Off & Pick Up Car Park — it was renamed and physically moved into the new Transport Interchange on 16 July 2025. It is not free: the airport’s published tariff starts at £8.50 for up to 10 minutes, correct on its own prices page on 30 July 2026. That rate rose from £7 on 5 January 2026, so treat it as a figure that moves rather than a fixed one.
To drop off a passenger without paying it:
- Use the free Waiting Zone near the Car Rental Centre (BS48 3DW), which the airport gives free for up to one hour
- After the first hour the airport’s published rate is £20 per hour, so it stops being the cheap option quickly
- The airport’s own FAQ says the Car Rental Centre bus runs every 15 minutes between 06:00 and 00:00, and on demand between 00:00 and 06:00 — you ring the number displayed at the stop
- Passengers with heavy luggage should allow a little extra time for the bus
The Waiting Zone trap nobody mentions: there is a no-return-within-30-minutes policy. ANPR reads your plate on the way in and out, and the same vehicle coming back inside 30 minutes gets an automatic Penalty Charge Notice. If you are dropping off and then collecting later the same morning, that is the rule that catches people out.
Rogue parking warning: a significant number of illegal Meet & Greet operators are active near Bristol Airport in 2026. Cars have been left on farmland, residential streets and industrial estates. Book with an operator that is Park Mark accredited or independently verifiable — and check they publish a real phone number and compound.
Bristol Airport parking — key facts for 2026
- Long Stay is not in the airport’s current list of bookable car parks (checked 02/08/2026); Silver Zone and Mid Stay are its long-trip options
- EV charging is published for Multi-Storey users only — 20 chargers opposite the terminal, first come first served, no advance reservation. Our EV charging guide covers what is and is not actually available
- Drop Off & Pick Up starts at £8.50 for up to 10 minutes (airport tariff, correct on its site 30 July 2026) — avoid it for anything longer than a quick stop
- Pre-booking is almost always cheaper than turning up on the day
- We monitor return flights automatically when you give us your flight number
Two things this guide deliberately does not do: quote you a pre-booked airport price, which is dynamic and would be out of date by the time you read it, and tell you how long the drive takes. For the second, getting to Bristol Airport by car has the distances from Bath, Cardiff, Exeter, Taunton and Gloucester, and explains where the Bristol Clean Air Zone does and does not apply.
Frequently asked questions
How far is off-airport parking from the terminal?
With Meet & Greet, the handover happens right at the terminal — you never travel to the car park yourself. For Minibus Park & Ride, our compound is around 10 minutes from the terminal on our own minibus.
Is Bristol Airport parking 24 hours?
Yes — we operate 24/7, including early morning and late night flights. There is always someone on the phone and a driver on shift.
Can I change my booking dates?
Yes — contact us at bookings@parkingbristolairport.co.uk and we will arrange an amendment. Subject to availability, changes are usually free more than 48 hours before drop-off.
